B2B wholesale for Shopify · UK & EU first
Trade credit for Shopify B2B, actually enforced
Buyers apply, you approve with a credit limit, and Shopify checkout blocks any order that would go over it. VAT validated automatically. Nothing ever touches your theme.
The lifecycle of trust
01 · Apply
Buyers apply on your terms
A hosted wholesale application collects business details, trade references, documents — and validates the VAT number with HMRC or VIES before it ever reaches you.
02 · Approve
Approve with a limit
One approval creates the Shopify company, assigns the wholesale catalog and payment terms, and sets the credit limit. The onboarding data is the credit decision.
03 · Enforce
Checkout holds the line
Every order is checked against available credit — limit minus outstanding — and blocked with a clear message if it would go over. Holds when overdue, re-review when documents expire.
Why Transactful
Apply → approve → enforce
One flow from wholesale application to enforced credit limit. The data you collect at onboarding — VAT status, trade references, documents — is the data that sets the limit. No cold start, no spreadsheet.
Works on every Shopify plan
Built on Shopify's native B2B platform and checkout validation, so credit enforcement runs on Basic and Grow — no Plus required.
Why Plus isn't needed →VAT handled correctly
UK VAT numbers validated against HMRC, EU numbers against VIES, and exemption handled per company — the thing B2B merchants complain about most in other apps.
Read the VAT guide →Zero theme code
Admin extensions, customer account extensions, and checkout functions. No Liquid edits, no script tags, nothing to break on your next theme update.

Questions merchants ask
Does credit enforcement require Shopify Plus?
No. Transactful uses checkout validation, which public apps can provide on every Shopify plan — Basic, Grow, Advanced, and Plus. Native B2B features (companies, payment terms) have been available on all plans since April 2026.
Does Transactful modify my theme?
Never. Transactful is built entirely on Shopify-native surfaces: admin extensions, customer account extensions, and checkout validation functions. No Liquid edits, no script tags, nothing breaks when you change themes.
How are VAT numbers validated?
UK VAT numbers are checked against HMRC and EU numbers against VIES during the wholesale application, before you approve. The validation evidence is stored with the application.
What happens when a buyer exceeds their credit limit?
Checkout is blocked with a clear message showing their remaining available credit, so they can reduce the order or contact you. Available credit is recomputed within seconds of orders being created, paid, cancelled, or refunded.
I'm new to wholesale — is Transactful only for established programs?
No — the Recommended setup configures an application form, proforma-first payment terms, and starter credit limits in one step, so your first stockist conversation has a professional destination from day one. Existing wholesale books import without buyers re-applying.
Which regions does Transactful support?
Transactful is built UK and EU first: HMRC and VIES validation, per-company exemption, and intra-EU reverse charge handling. The app itself works on any Shopify store.
